"Guardian of the Moon" is a work that represents the deep bond between the people of Ponza, their land and divine protection.
The crescent moon, the island's distinctive symbol, recalls not only its natural shape, but also the image of a boat, evoking the seafaring tradition of the fishermen who have always sailed these waters.

At the centre of the work stands a stylised figure, symbol of the watchful and silent presence of San Silverio, patron saint of Ponza, protector of the island and its people.

Made of ceramic - a material rooted in the heart of the Mediterranean - the work transforms an ancient symbol into a tangible testimony of faith, identity and belonging.

The figure of the saint, simple and at the same time solemn, reflects the spiritual strength that sustains the people of Ponza: a moon that, in its sweet and enveloping shape, recalls the protective embrace of the land from which we are born and to which we always return.
